Daytime Makeup Necessities

Hey lovelies!

I’m going to give you a look inside my makeup bag and the collection I normally use for my day to day makeup and when I’m going for a more natural look. I’m not the type of person to buy expensive make up and I just go for the brand which I can afford and I like. Of course I’ll leave the links below so that you can have a look at them yourself!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation

This foundation is a medium coverage and I have it in the shade 200, soft beige. I’ve been using this foundation for so long and it’s definitely a favourite of mine. It wears as quite a thick medium coverage so it definitely covers all blemishes and stays put for the majority of the day and doesn’t feel as though it is wearing thin after a morning out. (It does say it is 25 hour wear, but I can’t say I’ve had it on that long to be able to tell!) But anyway, that’s my base.

Rimmel Match Perfection, Skin Tone Adapting Concealer

This product is a 2 in 1 concealer and highlighter which covers and lightens the skin whilst letting it breathe and I have it in shade 040 Soft Beige. I use this under my eyes, on my eye lids (as a sort of primer), on my nose and any other areas where I have a particularly bad blemish that day. It goes on so lightly and sits so well on the skin. It definitely lightens the areas and just makes my eyes look slightly brighter – and not as though I haven’t had any sleep for weeks! The tip is a brush type shape and you squeeze the tube to get the product on the applicator – I feel as though this way I never manage to put too much on and it’s nice and controlled.

Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder

This powder is in 021 – transparent. I use it to set my foundation in place but without adding anymore colour to my face. There’s not much to say about this really, it’s a transparent powder to set my makeup – that pretty much sums it up I think! It works well and my makeup sets really nicely with it on top.

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette

I’ve not really got into the whole process of contouring to be honest and especially when I am going for a natural look in the daytime. This palette is in the shade 002, coral glow and I especially like it because all of the shades are subtle and easy to use but go on so nicely that they do actually make a different to your look. I obviously use separate brushes for each part of the palette, I start with the middle deeper share under my cheek bones and around the top of my forehead. I then use the blush on my cheek bones but not too close to the front of my face. Ending with the highlight, I either use the tip of a brush or my finger to just dot some onto the very top of my cheek bone and around the corner of my eyes. This is a great little starter kit if you aren’t too confident on the whole contouring thing, or simply don’t have time.

So that’s the face done – now onto the eyes. I’m terrible and will probably shock some people that I don’t use an eye primer, I simply haven’t found one I really like and isn’t too expensive, but if you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments! So for a ‘primer’ technique I just pop on some concealer and cover it with some setting powder and it seems to work for me.

Seventeen Easy on the Eye Eyeshadow Palette in Birthday Suit

I absolutely LOVE this palette. I purposely brought this for my day to day wear and for colours which would give me a really natural eye but could be used together. Its got so many pinks and neutral colours in it, with a couple of deeper gold/brown colours and 3 cream based shadows. The colours are quited pigmented and it goes on the eye so easily without coming off the brush and ending up halfway down your face! If I was going to have 1 palette that I had to use for the rest of my makeup applying life, I would definitely choose this one.

Avon Superextend Winged Out Mascara in Blackest Black

This is genuinely the best mascara I have used in a long time. I am one to want to have long, thick eyelashes without them looking thick, covered with mascara and feeling heavy. When this one advertised as being a ‘winged out mascara’ I was hoping for good things – and this most certainly didn’t disappoint. I only ever use black mascara and don’t ever go for a different colour. You can barely feel the mascara on your eyelashes but they look long and beautiful at the same time. I am a big fan of this and such an unthought-of make I think!

That’s all I generally do with my eyes, nice and simple.

Seventeen Stay Put Lipstick in Colour ‘Just a Fling’

I have been experimenting a lot more with lipstick and having some form of colour on my lip and so I have really tried to broaden my lipstick collections – and this MAY have led to a slight addiction! This lipstick is lovely, it goes on well and doesn’t need too many coats, the colour is so vibrant and it seems to last a long time, as a lipstick goes. This shade is a very neutral pink colour so it goes with any make up look and is subtle for an everyday look.

Now you know my makeup products which I use to achieve a very natural day to day look and I hope this has helped give you some ideas. I am by no means a makeup artist, I just do what I enjoy and feel suits me. I would love to see your makeup looks and hear abou tother products which you use that are good, so comment them down below. Thank you for reading and remember to head over to my social media too on the links!
