This month has been quite an easy one to pick my favourites – in fact I had to cut my list down so this post didn’t end up extremely long! So let’s get started, with as little waffling as possible…
In September last year, I decided it was time to stop dying my hair and give it a much needed break from chemicals. However, I continued to use shampoos and conditioners for coloured hair which is pretty pointless and was costing me a small fortune. This product was recommended to me by a friend and boy am I glad I tried it! I can rarely go a day without washing my hair, or at least loading it with dry shampoo or being conscious that it looks greasy, but these have definitely helped. I am not telling you this is goodbye to greasy hair or dry ends but I definitely feel as though it has helped my hair last better between washes or using less dry shampoo, and my hair in general has felt in a better condition. They both smell so gorgeous and lather up so much you really only need a small amount (not like other hair products which I end up using half the bottle just to feel like I’m washing my hair). This is definitely a product I can see myself using for a while.
I am aware I may be way behind with this one but this month I’ve found a way of getting my nail polish off a lot easier! I went on a bit of a shopping spree recently and the Models Own stand in my local shopping centre was doing 6 nail products for £20 and so I thought I’d give this a try after another recommendation. The pot holds a small sponge and nail polish remover solution, you place your finger into the pot, twist and the nail polish vanishes! After spending years of soaking cotton wool pads, and using half a bottle of remover on one hand, this product is a life saver!
If I’m going to do anything in my spare time, it has to be baking. I love trying new recipes and changing what I’m baking every week, new recipes mean new things to eat! I brought this book because Tanya Burr is one of my favourite vloggers and it definitely hasn’t disappointed me. There is such a wide variety of recipes, which are super simple to follow and are all made with ingredients available from local supermarkets. If you are into baking in any way, then this recipe book is a must have and I literally cannot wait to bake more from it – which you’ll no doubt see in my future blogs.
This is my go to lipstick so of course it had to be part of my first favourites. I brought this shade for an everyday natural look which would last – and this is definitely what I got. It’s quite a creamy lipstick when it’s applied but once it has dried, it sits so well that I barely remember I’ve got lipstick on and lasts for so long so I rarely have to top it up when I’m out for the day. The colour is so pigmented and literally goes with any make up and outfit look. If I’m ever stuck on which lip colour to wear, this one is 100% the one I’ll reach for – even when it isn’t for a natural day time look. I’m definitely going to be expanding my NYX collection so I’ll let you know if I find any more must haves!
This is one of my most recent buys but it has been quick to go into my favourites list. I have been looking for a foundation type product which isn’t going to break the bank, I can wear every day and isn’t as heavy as foundation and gives me a natural look, when I don’t want to wear a full face of make up. I liked the sound of this product when it promised full coverage whilst preventing outbreaks and minimising pores, resulting in an improvement of skin within 4 weeks. It comes in either shades light or medium so I went for medium as I’ve got some colour from my holiday, but there wasn’t really much difference between the two. I’ve only used this a couple of times so far but I am in love with it! It only takes a small amount to fully cover the face, it feels so light and looks as though you are still wearing a full coverage foundation. If I continue to use this and my skin does improve, I’ll be even happier – I may even swap it with my foundation permanently.
This may be my favourite, favourite! After buying a khaki bomber jacket a very long time ago, but never being fully happy with it, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one. I found this one but in khaki on the internet, saying it was due to come soon and when I went into the shop, they had the jacket but in this nude colour – which I much preferred. It was one of those buys where you see it from across the shop and immediately fall in love with it? It’s super silky, fits so well and the colour literally goes with everything. I have found the perfect bomber jacket and I have a feeling you’ll be seeing me in it quite a lot of the time!
So there we have it – my July favourites. There’s definitely been a fair few this month, so I hope you like my choices. Let me know in the comments if you’ve found anything this month which are in your favourites – I’d love to hear them. I’ve linked the products I’ve talked about below so it is easier for you to find them – thank me later! Thank you for reading to the end!
